Stray Cat Drags Friend To Shelter, Hoping It’s Not Too Late To Save Her

We have all heard of, perhaps even seen, stories of animals mourning the loss of a loved one. Dog’s trying to get a response from a fallen companion, an elephant mourning the loss of a baby calf. But rarely do we hear stories of house cats doing something similar. A stray cat in China is about to change that.

According to viewer accounts, the white and orange cat stood on top of her friend’s lifeless body and tried to revive her. Apparently, she’s in denial about her friend’s death. In desperation, the cat took the limp corpse to its mouth and began to drag her to a nearby shelter for help.

People’s opinions on why he is doing this, are varied. From people commenting that he wants privacy with his fallen friend to grieve. Or that he is hoping to find somewhere for his friend to recover, thinking he is just stunned from the impact?

“Its friend is dead, look at the cat!”
Although no one has any idea as to the reason for the other cat’s death, this cat’s devoted devotion has moved our hearts. It was clear that the cat was not yet ready to let her friend go. We sincerely hope that this mouring cat finds the strength to deal with her loss.
